A Very Special Episode of Blossom

Today is a very unorthodox post. There's good news, and then there's bad news. And it's a bit of a long one so go get something to eat and drink.

First off, I graduated college today. Which is pretty big, I mean...now I have a college degree. The American dream! But how do I sum up years of schooling in one blog post? With video, of course.

A brief montage of college life at my school.

I think you get the joke after like, 30 seconds, so don't feel bad if you didn't sit through the whole thing. But, it's over. I'm going to miss you, Clown College. I also did some cars. Here are they:

A Ford Fusion, with emphasis on how fuel efficient/performance minded it is.

A Chevy Camaro. Had to re-vitalize the brand for a new generation, so no classic muscle car "stripes."

A custom wide-body kit for the Hyundai Genesis.

And it's non-wide body, but still fixed up/customized cousin.

So now that college is done, I'm going to have a lot more time for The BLOG again. That's the good news. The bad news is, The BLOG is shutting down. This is no joke. The BLOG is over and done with.

What.

I'd like to thank everyone who stuck around this long, and truly give love to everyone who enjoyed my artwork. You guys have been great, and I'll always be thankful for so many dedicated fans. But sadly, all things must come to an end, so The BLOG is no exception. One thing you have to understand, is that The BLOG can no longer exist, and it has to shut down.

.......SO THAT WE CAN OPEN A BRAND NEW SITE!

Fooled ya!

That's right! The BLOG must end, so that we can create THE SITE...ok, the name is still being worked on. But while this place is being shut down, I'm going to be creating new artwork, new videos, a new site, and the same old shit that you've come to expect. Of course, this isn't going to all happen over night, so please bear with me. We're aiming for a tentative opening date of September 9th, 2009 (that's 9-9-09, I know, I'm so cute), so please check back then for the new URL and everything (although you probably know what it's going to be so who are we joking here). So for the last time on blogspot, this Art of PHN, saying THANK YOU, AND GOOD NIGHT................for now!

Youtube Tuesdays: The Chronic: Valkyria Style

Stan Buuuuuuush! He'll never surrender to not giving us the fresh jams, that's for sure. Well, since he's retired, I guess he did surrender. But we won't surrender here at The BLOG, that's for sure! The flame effect was probably one of the more difficult parts of the piece. The colors, and setting it up logically so that the daylight wouldnt affect the shadows? Shit ain't easy. Even now I'm not sure if it's all correct. But that's ok, it's a lesson learned, a life lived, and a love lost.

It was supposed to look like this, except not nearly as tragic...ally hilarious.

I usually don't like doing pieces with a lot of characters in them and this piece reminded me why: it's too much friggin' work. I love giving every single one of them TLC, and with this many, it's so hard to split my attention 12 ways. That, and the fact that I had vidja games on the brain that week...s. But whatev's, enjoy the vidja, rock out with Bush, and keep it sleazy! This is PHN, never going to surrender your love, for The BLOG!

Strategy Shooter Sundays: Valkyrian Colors

B-b-break it down! It's Rappin' PHN here, dropping beats on a Sunday afternoon. Along with the beats, check out the feats, of another finished colored work. I think this work is the first time I've depicted open violence on The BLOG, which is odd considering I'm a big fan of violence, action movies, and generally all things that are considered to be mind rotting. Oh wait, I don't draw violence, I draw cheesecake-y PG-13 teaser pics of girls. Also good in scratching that itchy id.

So what's being going on in PHN's Wild World of Wacky....Wings? Starting up my last quarter of school, and it's...pretty bleh. 2 animation classes, nothing wrong there, but I need 1 last elective for my diploma, and it's..."Non-commercial broadcasting." Basically a black woman telling us how the media is in control of culture and television is distracting us from real social problems that we should be focusing on, and how public access/non-commercial works such as NPR and it's ilk is vastly superior to expanding our minds. Uh...I just went through college in southern California, in Los Angeles. Do you think I've had my fill of liberal hippie bullshit by now? Apparently, the college system doesn't think I'm done with that yet. I'm hoping to drop that class and get into "Children's Media studies" which I hope is just us watching cartoons once a week. Now that, I can get behind...

Fanart Friday: The Valkyrian Resistance

Sup, Blogizens! PHN here with another Fridelicious update. I think it's no secret that I waste way too much time playing video games, but I can't help it! My PS3 is just my escape into the digital world, with titles such as Valkyria Chronicles, Resistance 1 and 2, Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2...oh man, I just wanna leave this computer and fire it up and play just thinking about it! But when I finally do settle down and get to penciling, I still got vidja on the brizain. This week, it's the heroic heroes of Squad 7 taking on the cunning Chimera of Resistance's lore. For those of you not in the know about the Chimera, they're a cross between aliens and zombies. They're alien invaders who take dead/dying soldiers to their conversion centers and turn them into hybrid warriors, so it's sci-fi with a taste of horror. So what do you do? Take out your gun and mess 'em up!

Time to lock and load.

There's a lot going on with this piece: guns, violence, girls, flame throwers, and maybe a love story, if you really wanna stretch it. I usually don't like drawing so many characters, because it's hard to split your attention across so many figures, but it's something you just gotta be able to do. So enough bitchin,' let's get cuh-ray-zay! Bring it back next time for the next installment of The BLOG!

Rumors: Of a Sunday; Bodycast: Xeon

It's Sunday, the sun is high and so are spirits! Today, we're posting the colored version of Enzo rocking the boxes, southpaw style. Is he left handed? I don't know, but left handed people don't get nearly enough love, that's for sure.

It was where we all used to hang out.

You'll notice that the sparks in the colored version differ from the pencils I uploaded on Friday. Cedric "No-Con do" gave me an Indecent Proposal: try some sparks of your own, and let's see how that comes out. So I say sure, let me just paint some junk in and we'll call it sparks. No one will be able to tell the difference anyway. There's not much else to say about this one...it's fairly straight forward. The piece was meant to be a new banner top on Cedric's site, and also for promotional use, so it's not like there's an epic tale to be told within the lines...or is there?
